About Us
Christina has been a garden designer for twenty years. She trained at the English Gardening School in London and, with her previous partner Bridget Lutyens, worked on gardens at Youlston Park, Morebath Manor, Rackenford Manor and Castle Hill. Independently she has redesigned the award-winning gardens at Coughton Court in Warwickshire. Most recently she has designed the Music on the Moors Garden for the Two Moors Festival which won a Gold Medal and Best Courtyard Garden at the 2010 Chelsea Flower Show.
Annie also trained at the English Gardening School and has worked with Christina for three years. She is a co-founding partner of Gardens South West a company offering educational workshops in gardening and garden tours.
Together we have worked on redesigning gardens at Chargot House, The Glebe House, Angersleigh and Gothelney Hall in Somerset and Sidbury Manor in Devon as well as many other projects in Southern England and London.We are particularly concerned that a garden fulfils the owners’ preferences for style as well as being sympathetic to its surroundings.
Although many of our designs include contemporary features and planting, we also do lots of gardens that are much more traditional in feel. Ascertaining a realistic level of ongoing maintenance, accommodating how the area will be used both now and in the future and considerations of budget are all essential elements in any of our designs.
Based on these criteria we usually create a Masterplan.From this starting point we can oversee all construction and hard landscaping. After the structural features such as terraces, walls, hedges and trees are installed, we will develop detailed planting plans for the borders. We source all elements of the new garden from stonework to plants and work with our clients until the job is completed. Some of our clients would prefer to manage the work in stages and we are available to advise on the best way to go about this too.
